Description

Attention, this is no ordinary awl!

It is a demonstration of the intelligence and know-how of a French craftsman who has completely redesigned an old tool.
The awl is an extension of the hand, it must be pleasant to use to do quality work. Of all the tools of the saddler/leather maker, the awl is the one you will have in your hands most often, so you need to know how to equip yourself with a good tool.

The blade is made of high-performance cobalt steel and is already perfectly sharpened.

The ferrule is made of titanium, its tip is fully polished and will not mark leather, even if the blade is pushed all the way in.

The handle is ergonomic and will provide you with excellent comfort, it is equipped with a flattened part that will allow you to take the punch always in the same way, which will allow you to have a regular cutting angle.

You can choose your own inclination of the blade in relation to the handle to get exactly the point you want by using the screw at the end of the handle (TORX screw n°15).
The blade is very sharp and is delivered already sharpened, an appreciable time saving as this operation is often tedious. It is only necessary to keep the blade sharp by polishing it from time to time with polishing paste on the leather.

The shape of the blade has been perfectly studied (6 planes instead of the traditional 4) to penetrate the leather like butter, but also to be able to come out without having to feel this small blocking point typical of ordinary awls.

In case of problem (fall or misuse), the blade can be changed (sold as a spare part) and can be removed with a small TORX N°6 screw on the side.

Smaller handles available upon request.

Tips for use :

The material used for the iron makes it extremely effective but also fragile!
It cannot be twisted and if dropped, it can break. Do not hesitate to cover the floor of your workshop with a carpet to avoid this mishap but above all place the awl on its flat surface to prevent it from slipping and falling.
