Description
Calati has crafted the Leather Thickness Gauge in Italy since 1961, using precision engineering and durable materials. This analog tool measures the thickness of leather, paper, fabrics, plastics, metal sheets, rubber, and foam with high accuracy. The light-alloy bow and stainless-steel components resist wear, corrosion, and harsh environments like water, salt, and acids.
You can choose between four throat depths: 25 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm, or 450 mm. Each gauge includes 10 mm flat contacts, ideal for leather measurement, and reads thickness quickly with 0.1 mm resolution.
The 25 mm model relies on manual pressure, which works best for thick or rigid leathers. On soft leathers, measurements may vary depending on how firmly you press the gauge.
In contrast, the 200 mm, 300 mm, and 450 mm models apply pressure automatically, following ISO 2589 standards, specifically, a load of about 393 grams on a 10 mm presser foot, generating roughly 49.1 kPa of pressure.
Professionals around the world trust the Calati gauge for consistent quality control and long-lasting performance.
